CJP Mourns Ori Ansbacher

We are shocked and deeply saddened by the horrific assault and murder of Ori Ansbacher, 19, by a Palestinian terrorist in Jerusalem.

Ori, whose name means, “my light” in Hebrew, was described by family members as a young woman determined to help others, volunteering when she could and bringing light to the world through her kindness. Ori was walking through a park in Jerusalem when police say she was attacked and killed by a 29-year-old terrorist from Hebron while taking a break from her job, where she helped children at a youth center nearby. We are heartbroken that Ori’s family – and the world – lost her light to this barbaric attack.

Israel’s citizens are always in our thoughts and prayers, but are even more so during difficult times like this. CJP stands in solidarity with them.

We mourn with the Ansbacher family and our many brothers and sisters in Israel who have suffered so much sorrow at the hands of terrorists. May Ori’s memory be a blessing.
